General Data Protection Regulations

In line with the new changes to the GDPR and Data Protection laws, which come into play on May 25th 2018, please find below more information with regards to how we store and use your personal data.
 
​We are committed to ensuring that all of your personal data and privacy is protected, and under no circumstances will we give out your personal information without your permission.  The information requested of you when using any of our services (e.g. mailing list, online store, etc.) is used only by means of identification and communication within this company, and is used only in accordance with this privacy statement.

​What information might we collect from you?
​Full name
​Contact details; Phone number, Email address
​Demographics; Home address, Postcode
​Birthday
​Payment details (for online purchases); Transaction IDs, Payment method, Bank details (only in cases where a refund is required)
​Personal responses (for open questions within the mailing list)
​Event details; Venue address, event timings, venue contact details

​What do we do with your information?
​For mailing list members, your information is used only for means of communication.  We will contact you via email with news, updates, offers, exclusive deals, etc. 
​For online store purchases, your address is required so that we can forward your order to you.  A phone number and email are requested so that we can contact you, should any problems arise with your order.  We may require your payment details, but only on occasions where a refund is required.  Payment details, such as payment method, are made visible to us, only for circumstances regarding your order, such as if in the instance we need to trace the payment, or how the payment was made.
​For clients, we will require contact details to ensure that we can contact you with regards to your booking.  We will only ever contact you when it is necessary to do so.  We may require your payment details, but only on occasions where a refund is required.  Payment details, such as payment method, are made visible to us, only for circumstances regarding your order, such as if in the instance we need to trace the payment, or how the payment was made.
​These are the only circumstances in which we will require your personal information.  We require this information in order to provide a smooth service.

How long will my data be held for?
​Information on client invoices, bookings, and order forms may be held for up to seven years, as they may be required within this period for legal or tax purposes.
​Mailing list member information will be held for as long as they are subscribed.  All information will be deleted after the member unsubscribes from the service.

​Why might your information be required?
​For effective processing of bookings.
​For effective processing of online orders.
For mailing list communication.
​For client communication.
​For communication regarding your online order.
To help us improve our services.
​To keep clients and fans updated with any news or changes.

​How is my data secured?
​Your data is protected by electronic and physical structures, ensuring only authorised persons can access it.

​Who will my data be shared with?
We use a third party provider, Mailchimp, for our mailing list service. Mailchimp has their own GDPR privacy policy, which you can access here.
​We use a website domain, Weebly, for hosting our online store.  For more information on Weebly's privacy policy, visit their website.
​In circumstances where we have set up another artist with a client, the client and/or artist's contact details will be shared only once the booking is confirmed and a contract or security deposit has been completed.  These contact details will never be given out without either party's permission.

​Can you request your information?
​You are entitled to request the details of the information which we hold about you, under the new EU GDPR regulations.  If you would like to access a copy of the information we hold on you, please email: info@samlyon.co.uk.
​Your information can be removed or updated at any time upon request.  If you would like your information to be updated or removed, please email: info@samlyon.co.uk.

What rights do you have over your information?
​You are entitled to a copy of any data we hold about you.
​You have the right to opt out of any marketing emails.
​You have the right to have incorrect data corrected.
​You have the right to claim compensation if you feel any of these regulations aren't maintained.
