I wanted to share something special and super-exclusive for my lovely members. This is the unreleased, never-heard-before demo version of my debut album, 'What It Is To Know Colour'.

 

All of these tracks you're about to listen to are the original, first draft takes of each song, produced by no one else but me in my living room. This was the final, raw state of the songs before they made it to the studio or into the hands of the session musicians, where they grew into something far bigger.

 

When I first finished all of these demos, I was absolutely delighted with how they sounded and was certain I almost had a finished album already. But, taking them to my producer and building them up with the real instruments and the real orchestral strings totally transformed them, even more than I could've imagined.

 

That being said, as wonderful as it is listening to big epic soundscapes, I also think there's something special about listening to demos, knowing that these were the versions of the songs when they were at their rawest and were personally handcrafted with the purest of emotion. Every note, every beat, every little subtle noise hidden in the background is all intentional and you know that the artist sat there and dedicated their time and attention to getting it just how they wanted it, without any influence from anyone else.
