Episode 3 - Hormones vs Mental Health

Our third episode is all about the impact hormones have on our mental health, with a focus on the menstrual hormone cycle and related issues including PMS, PMDD, and more.

This week, I am joined by Laura Teare-Jones. Laura was diagnosed with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) in 2019, after many years of severely struggling with her mental health, and at times also her physical health, but being unable to identify the root of the problem. Due to the nature of its rapid mood-changing episodes, PMDD is often misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder or manic depression. However, more often than not, and just like in Laura's case, PMDD often goes completely undiagnosed at all. This episode's "ask-the-audience" includes questions such as "Have you ever noticed a correlation between your hormones and mental health?", "Do you take any steps in controlling your hormones so they don't impact your mental health?", and more. Thank you to everyone who voted in the polls and gave your feedback! Watch the full episode below:
